BoomTown WoodFire - Eveleth: Reviews & Ratings
We loved it! The boom boom wings were awesome and the Brie burger I had was amazing. The waitress was super friendly and my kids keep asking to go back. We are definitely coming back next time we are in town!
Was up there from Kansas to interview with a company and we stopped in with the family and had a nice dinner.. Overall it was great. A bit pricey for somethings however we was all full and took food back to hotel.. service was great . On time never waited on anything. Highly recommend place. I foresee us going back once we make the move up there.
The staff was great, very friendly and attentive. The food was a nice change of pace. There were really creative flavor combinations on the menu, as well. The curds and the fruit sauce with them was a fantastic combination. The SINGLE complaint I have is I asked for my burger to be well done (I like rare steak, but can't stand pink ground beef) and it came out medium. Wasn't a deal breaker on the place itself, however. Everything else was 10/10. I will be back, just will likely avoid the burgers for personal preference. You should stop in, if you want something that is good, filling, and not fast food. The price reflects the quality, so be prepared for about $20 a person with no appetizer.
I originally had some concerns and shared them here, but the owner contacted me and went above and beyond to make things right. Mistakes happen, but their response showed how much they care about their customers. I will continue supporting this business. I’ve updating my OVERALL rating to reflect the excellent customer service. ORIGINAL REVIEW...PLEASE SEE ABOVE FOR RESOLUTION! I visited BoomTown this evening for their Taco Tuesday. I ordered the Boom Boom Pulled Pork tacos. I have had these many time before, but tonight they were over the top spicy. I talked to the table next to me who agreed, in fact like me the lady at that table ate almost two of her tacos before she couldn't handle it any more. I told them I was having the same difficulty. One waiter said the tacos should be more "sweet" not spicy. Our waitress said others had complained today regarding the spiciness too. I stopped eating my tacos, chips and salsa, since I couldn't identify where the spice was coming from. When I asked my waitress, who had admitted others were complaining, about a discount since I couldn't finish my food since the heat kept building in my mouth. She stated I couldn't get a discount since it was Taco Tuesday so the food was already discounted. Not pleased. To add insult to injury the lady at the table next to me made the same complaint and she was offered new food. I don't know if it was because her husband made the complaint on her behalf, and I was a table of one? Very disappointed in service and food.
We visited in January 2026, and our server, Heather, was absolutely outstanding. It was just my daughter (13) and me in town for a curling tournament, and we were having fun with cocktails and mocktails while enjoying a busy, energetic atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious, and despite the restaurant being packed—including an entire bus of boys—the service was fast, attentive, and seamless. The restaurant was clean and clearly very well run. After we returned to our hotel that night, I realized I only had one of my white Apple earbuds. With the blowing snow, gray skies, multiple layers of winter clothing, and all the walking we’d done, I assumed it was gone for good. Still, I stopped by the restaurant early Sunday morning to try my luck. The restaurant was closed, and I was out in the parking lot retracing my steps in the snow when Heather pulled in. She rolled down her window and asked, “Did you lose something?” I explained what happened, and only then realized she was our server from the night before. She immediately took my number and told me she’d look inside at our booth and check with the hostess. I drove away thinking, Well, that’s on me—I can’t have nice things. Later that day, while we were driving back to Brainerd, I got a text from Heather—she found it! I offered to pay for shipping, but she told me her boss would take care of it. Sure enough, about a week later, my earbud arrived—carefully packaged, tracked, and clearly not inexpensive to send. This had nothing to do with food, but everything to do with exceptional customer service. Heather went truly above and beyond, and it speaks volumes about the culture of this restaurant. We will absolutely be back next year.
Boomtown first timers. I visited with my husband for a nice dinner without our children. I believe our server’s name was Veronica. She was nice and attentive. We shared a margarita and the blueberry crush cocktail. Both were delicious. Our appetizers were a side Caesar salad and the cheese curds which are served with a raspberry chipotle sauce. I LOVE the curds and the sauce! My husband had the chimichurri ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccoli which he really liked. I had the black tie ribeye sandwich and parm truffle fries which I never had before. The sandwich was probably a 3.5 out of 5. The bun was a little dry and could have used a little extra meat. The fries were great! We took a piece of the gluten-free chocolate cake to go. Our dining experience was very good and we enjoyed our kid-free evening. The only reason for not rating a 5 out of 5 was due to a bit of a wait for our food. We look forward to coming back next time we’re in the area. :-)
It was all very comforting! Service was fantastic with our waitress (Kailynn) keeping track of our orders easily. She offered refills and always kept a smile on her face. Definitely kid friendly considering a large group of teenagers here. 10/10 recommend!
My waitress, Heather, was absolutely phenomenal! I had ordered my ribeye steak to be medium rare, but it came out as well-done (still tasted great, but pretty salty). Heather was concerned that I had not received what I had ordered and brought out a new steak with the extra add-on butter on the top, with no extra charge. Sadly, it still came out well-done and she had offered to bring me another steak, to which I told her that it was okay and that I didn’t want to bother her and the kitchen with the steak; I also didn’t mind it because the taste was still very good. She told me that they don’t that at Boomtown Evelyn and that I would receive a compensation for the lack of quality. Heather completely voided the order from the bill, meaning that I did not have to pay a single penny for the steak. I have never received such thoughtful care from a restaurant and a server and don’t normally write reviews about places I’ve eaten at, but Heather deserves it!
